As recently reported in the Austin American Stateman, the Texas Seventh Court of Appeals has slated hearings for oral arguments in Former Texas Tech Football Coach Mike Leach’s lawsuit againts the Texas University. The lawsuit largely involves the 2009 firing of the well regarded coach.

Texas Tech is appealing the ruling of a trial court judge that ordered Texas Tech had waived its right to sovereign immunity in Leach’s breach of conduct claim.

Leach’s attorneys are appealing the trial court’s dismissal of many of the claims the former Texas Tech coach filed against the University.

Attorneys for Leach have until August 16 to submit briefs to the 7th Court of Appeals. Texas Tech University’s briefs are due the next day.
