DLG Luce – San Antonio – Jury Selection Begins In San Antonio Federal Strip Club Employment Lawsuit
As recently reported in the San Antonio Express News, jury selection started today in a San Antonio Federal Court for a lawsuit involving a San Antonio Strip Club’s alleged failure to pay overtime wages.
As noted in the article, two individuals sued the company operating in San Antonio as “Tiffani’s” alleging that the business violated multiple provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The lawsuit alleges that the ‘dancers’ at the club were paid by tips, but that Tiffany’s violated the FLSA by requiring the entertainers to pay a ‘house fee’ to dance there and to split money with other workers who don’t normally get tips, such as the disk jockey.
