As recently reported in the San Antonio Exrpess News, the San Antonio based Fourth Court of Appeals denied an appeal to overturn the conviction of a former San Antonio Attorney who was convicted of aiding her husband in extortion plots against four extra-marital lovers. 

In December 2007, Mary Schoriemer Roberts was ordered to serve 10 years probation for five felony counts of theft by deception and coercion. 

Bexar County First Assistant District Attorney Cliff Herberg was quoted as saying that ‘it should come as no surprize to Mary Roberts, given that’s the same decision the Fourth Court made with regard to her former husband.’

Roberts still has the option of requesting relief from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. According to the San Antonio Express News, she is currently suspended by the State Bar of Texas until a permanent outcome is decided.
