As noted in the recent Austin American Statesman article, Texas Swore in its newest Supreme Court Justice in a private ceremony early Monday. 

The Court swore in lawyer Debra Lehrmann to replace justice Harriet O’Neill, a two term justice who resigned on Sunday. 

Lehrmann is a Republic and will face Democrat JIm Sharp, a Houston appeals court judge, in the November general election.
