Jordan Brown, a gay pastor from Austin, Texas filed a lawsuit against Whole Foods last month after he ordered a cake from their bakery with the words “Love Wins” written on it, only to allegedly receive a cake with a gay slur attached to the end of the phrase “Love Wins F**” when he picked his cake up.
Whole Foods quickly responded to the allegations by releasing security footage of Brown purchasing the cake as proof that they had done nothing wrong. The video shows Brown paying for his cake at the register and Whole Food points out that the UPC label is in a different spot when compared to the video that Brown released on social media, contending that he later tampered with it. A countersuit against Brown was also filed as they stood by their employee who is also a part of the LGBT community.

Today, Jordan Brown has decided to drop his lawsuit against the grocery store stating, “The company did nothing wrong. I was wrong to pursue and use the media to perpetuate this story.” After receiving the news that Brown was ending his lawsuit, Whole Foods released a statement saying the company was ending its countersuit and that they are “very pleased that the truth has come to light.”
“Given Mr. Brown’s apology and public admission that his story was a complete fabrication, we see no reason to move forward with our counter suit to defend the integrity of our brand and team members.” The company’s counter suit had sought at least $100,000 in damages from Brown.

Several news sources have reached out to Brown’s attorney, Austin Kaplan, for a statement with no response.
