The Austin American Statesman in its legal blog entitled ‘Legal News’ recently published a rather in depth report of 2010 judicial candidates and where they stand with fundraising. Of note, the article stated the following:

* Judge Jan Patterson, who currently is a Judge on the 3rd Court of Appeals in Texas leads local judical candidates in Austin in cash on hand with only a few weeks until primary voting is held in March 2nd. Judge Patterson is seeking to move from the higher level appellate Court to the 201st District Court. Judge Patterson had over $100,000.00 in her campaign warchest as of December 31, 2009.

* Judge Patterson’s opponent in the Democratic primary is Austin attorney Amy Clark Meachum, who had approximately $38,000.00 as of the end of the year. Austin State Senator Kirk Watson is endorsing Meachum and holding a fundriaser for her at his home next week.
