DLG Luce – Austin – Austin City Council Approves New Restrictions Regardin Strip Club Locations

As recently reported in the Austin Business Journal, the Austin City Council has approved new restrictions on the location of strip clubs in the city. According to the article, strip clubs must now be located at least 1,000 feet from a museum or library, in addition to regulations that already exist.

The new proposed restrictions are notable in that there has been recent discussion of a strip club moving into a location on 4th Street and Congress downtown. It appears the new regulations would restrict this from taking place, in part because of the Mexic-Arte Museum which is located across the street from the proposed location.
