As recently reported in the San Antonio Business Journal, Bexar County and San Antonio city officials have joined forces and agreed to hire HVS Convention Sport & Entertainment Services to assess the value of San Antonio’s Toyota Field, the soccer home of the San Antonio Scorpions. The funding of the appraisal was referred to as the ‘first step’  in ‘kicking the ball closer to the MLS goal.’
San Antonio Councilman Mike Gallagher, whose district includes Toyota Field, was quoted in the article as stating that one of the possibilities for the field would be the City of San Antonio acquiring ownership of the stadium. 
Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff was quoted as stating that he is unclear where the appraisal will lead, but that he believes the city of ripe for big-league soccer.
