As recently reported in the Austin American Statesman, a Federal Judge in San Antonio has denied Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s request to transfer a lawsuit challenging the state’s ban on gay marriage to Austin.

According to the article, Abbott sought to consolidate the case with two other similar cases in Austin in Federal Judge Sparks’ Court.

San Antonio Federal Court Judge Orlando Garcia elected to keep the lawsuit in the San Antoino Court, ruling that the cases were each different in important respects.
