As recently reported in the Austin American Stateman, Travis County is set to increase the lawsuit filing fee on September 1, 2013. The Texas Legislature recently cleared the way for counties to charge more and Travis County is raising the fee by $20.00 to generate income for a proposed future new court house in Austin. 

Austin voters will vote on the issue soon. Counties surrounding Austin, including Williamson County are set to increase filing fees as well.
