As recently reported in the Texas lawyer, Texas is now closer to filling three long vacant federal trial court benches. Interestingly, Pres. Barack Obama’s nominees have received praise from both Texas Republican senators. Texas currently has nine judicial vacancies.   

Robert Pittman, who is currently the US attorney for the Western District of Texas would become Texas’ first openly gay US District Court Judge if confirmed to fill the vacancy in San Antonio.
