The two principle cities of DLG Luce LLP held mayoral races yesterday; one has a Mayor-elect and the other a run-off.

Garnering 56% of the vote, and in doing so avoiding a run-off election, San Antonio trial lawyer Julian Castro was elected the next mayor of San Antonio.

The 34 year old lawyer, and graduate of Harvard Law School, was narrowly defeated 4 years ago by outgoing mayor, former Judge Phil Hardberger.

In Austin, as no candidate was able to garner a majority vote, a run-off election will be held between Lee Leffingwell and Brewster McCracken. Notably, former Austin mayor and former Comptroller of Public Accounts, Carol Keeton Strayhorn missed the run-off, garnering about 21% of the vote and coming in third.
