As reported in the Austin American Statesman,  a former partner in the now defunct Austin law firm of Clark, Thomas and Winters testified in the case against Walter Demond

The Austin lawyer is Joe Cain, a former partner at the former Austin law firm Clark Thomas; Cain worked with Austin lawyer Walter Demond, who was the top outside lawyer at the Pedernales Electric Cooperative. Austin lawyer Walter Demond was charged with theft, money laundering and misapplication of fiduciary property.
