As recently reported in the Austin American Statesman, Central Texas will soon gets its second area code: 737. According to the article, starting in 2013 Austin area residents will begin to receive 737 area codes after the last 512 numbers are distributed. 

Austin willl become the fourth area in Texas to have multiple area codes.
